Lawn Bowls has 80 years of proud history in our community with Bankstown City Bowling and Recreation Club founded way back in 1929. The Club official opened it's doors on the 1st February 1930, and has evolved into a modern club house offering great facilities, competition and comradeship to its members.
It is with deep regret that the Handle Bar Tavern, after nearly 10 years, will cease operations from the 3rd May 2010.
Bankstown Sports realises that some sporting groups use the Handle Bar Tavern on a regular basis, and many loyal patrons have supported the facility and have come to adopt it as their preferred family venue. However, at this point, it is no longer viable for Bankstown Sports to operate this venue.
We thank the local sporting clubs, the loyal patrons and the staff for supporting the venue over the past decade.
